Invulnerable save question

Post by zephel on Thu Apr 28, 2011 1:29 pm

ok, from reading the rulebook, I take it that i am allowed to choose whichever save is "best". and yestarday i was in this situation, I was playing against some guy who told me that i can only ever use invulnerable saves when i can't use my armor save.

my question is , is this true and if so where is it in the rule book, because the invulnerable save entry just says that it's a save that is not negated by armor piercing and the other save entry says i'm allowed to take the best possible save. So vect can only take that uber 2+ invul if he can't use his 4+ armor?

You take the best possible save - Armor, Invuln, or Cover

You can stack Feel No Pain (Regen)

invulnerable then. two guys were telling me i had to take armor unless negated. but whats funny is that the invulnerable save is actually better then the armor save on vect.

I guess the confusion lies in marines having a better armour(2+/3+) save than invul (3+/4+/5+).

i wish saves in 40k worked like they did in 2nd....
Frist armor save, then invulnerable save, then bionics, then feel no pain

the game would be so broken....but yea to take the better one, unless something negs one of them

Yeah, but that was when 2 tactical, 1 whirlwind, 1 dread, and an uber lord or librarian were good.... and a full army.
