MARINES AND KNIGHTS OVER MIAMI May 21st - 23rd 2010!!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I present to you with the base information regarding our resurgance of our major gaming event.

Marines and Knights Over Miami

Marines and Knights (known as MKOM henceforth) was previously a large GW gaming convention that took place right here in Miami, Florida. The last event was hosted at UM's convention center about 4 to 5 years ago. With Joel's relocation to a larger store, he wanted to try and start up the convention again.

As such, for this year's event we will hosting it at SAG. I hope that next year (with a good event this year) that we will be able to move to a larger facility, as well as get on the GW circuit.


The Convention will open at 5 pm on Friday, May 21st and run through 10 or 11 pm on Sunday, May 23rd. Events include the following:

Young Gamers 40k Mini-Tournament (Friday Night)

4 Game 40k GT event (Saturday All Day)

4 Game Fantasy GT event (Sunday All Day)

Apoc Mega-Battle (Sunday Afternoon)

Fantasy Siege Mega-Battle (Saturday Afternoon)

Gladitor Arena of Death (Fantasy on Saturday, 40k on Sunday)

Painting Sessions (both detailed and speed painting)

Other specialist and mini-games (details on Joel's website)


There will be food and drinks available for dinner on Friday Night, and for lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday.


COST: MKOM will have several different purchasing packages. THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENTS.

$15 1 Day Pass
$20 Full Weekend Pass
$25 Full Weekend Pass + 2 Meal Tickets (redeemable for any meal)

Meal Tickets will be purchased through Joel and will include an entree (determined amount later), drink, and chips. Cost TBA


The GT events will be capped at 24 players MAX. Should you not make the initial sign up, you may sign up for "standby." If a player does not arrive for the event on time, you will be allowed to fill in as per the "standby" list.


More details and information will be listed on Joel's website. I wanted to get this information out to the local gaming community first so you guys can save the date on your calendars. We hope to make this a successful event. below is the basic schedule breakdown (a more detailed one will be on Joel's site soon, I will also provide a link).


Friday: Open Gaming, Kids 40k Mini-Tournament
Saturday: 40k 4 Game GT, Fantasy Special Events
Sunday: Fantasy 4 Game GT, 40k Special Events

Mike I would play some WOTR the question is do we have enough people for a tourney and will there be space at SAG those days?

We can have a 1v1 tourney

Doesn't have to be a tourney, we can do a big scenario game or something. I got most of jerrys old stuff so I got plenty of stuff.

I'm in. What's the point cap for the GT event? 1850? 2000? Will there be comp, painting, and sportsmanship scores?

DOnt think i'll be able to make it to the Sturday, but i'll be there for the Sunday fantasy!

Anybody at all concerned that there's an APOC game, 4 game fantasy tournament, and a gladiator arena of death all happening sunday afternoon?

Not to mention the 40k GT at the same time as a fantasy castle siege.

I know joel has alot of room... but many problems sense I. Jedi Knights we shall need.

I was thinking the same thing. If you have 12 games of 40k going, then I don't see much room for an epic fantasy battle at the same time. Same and vice versa for Sunday - providing through some miracle that 24 show for fantasy.
