That's interesting but odd....
Perhaps it turns out to be an Alternate universe WWII game which has become pretty popular thing to toy around with.
Rather not see another WW2 set game, the market is pretty crowded already.

And it would be hard to out do Flames of War, imo.

I agree... my guess is in their crazy greed GW couldn't stand to see another game company making decent money and they decided they wanted in on the action
If they make a skirmish type game they may have a shot.

Re: GW WWII Game in 20mm?
They could make a better rule set than FoW, but it's still going to have a hard time getting into the market. I don't think FoW's rules are all that good anyways, but there are tons of systems and better rule sets out there that it seems silly to bother.
Historicals generally have always had it rough and very niche, FoW is first to actually get any traction to a larger market.
I don't really believe the rumor though. It would be really dumb, they have so many old games they could pump new life into or remake that have established player bases and instead they would want to jump into a highly competitive market, especially one where theres tons of companies that make miniatures for it already.

GW believes' they can do no wrong.
I hope they through 100's of millions of dollars into this project, it totally fail and then they finally go out of business as they should have in the first place.

Re: GW WWII Game in 20mm?
It sounds like this isn't a real pure GW project as Forgeworld is the one showing it off apparently. Also it was rumored in Wargames Illustrated which covers lot of the warhammer historical stuff.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a side project that ends up being nothing more than books of rule sets. At the demo that Forgeworld did they say it was for 20mm but that it also will work with 15mm.
No way would GW invest into a game if they are basically saying it can use multiple scales of figs hence going and buying other peoples stuff. This will just probably end up being nothing but some books like the warhammer historicals. They already put out WWI material.
