Reserve Heavy Artillery - 8 howitzers, 122mm obr 1938, observer

I think you don't have enough AT guns, unless you have flame throwers in the Combat platoons.

The 122s have AT-4 in bombardments, and the 76s ZIS guns have AT-9. But i could easely grab 2 flamethrower platoons by dropping the 1942 at guns from the HQ and one platoon of infantry.

You need the flamethrowers, IMO.

You have a lot of artillery which is nice, but can be fickle. Don't forget you need to (1) range in, (2) roll to hit, (3) enemy rolls saves, (4) roll firepower (if necessary).

That being said, no one, save stephan, had any real artillery to speak of at the tournament. I think it is essential, and for the Udarny you'd need at least 2 of those 3 companies.

Try to figure out a way to make yourself have an even number of platoons. If you play any missions that require half your army in reserve, you'd only get 2 platoons on the table to start with. Having the extra platoon means you'll 3 on the table, with a total break point of 4 platoons (before company command checks).

But, try it out and see!

If you had the artillery out, he may have been forced to move across the river to avoid that artillery barrage on him. Those trained tanks would have had trouble with all of those skill checks running around.

But hey, now ya know!
