Alter Highborn

Still waiting to get my WE book in the mail and I had a general question someone may know.

What does an Alter Highborn look like? I don't see a model for one. Would that be something like Orion looks like? An elf with steed legs and moose antlers on his head?

Dont think they got a mini for him, most people use the guy holding a 2handed sword.

I have that one. I took him more for a wardancer.

Alter kin gives them movement M9 I9 and +1A. Can not be general. Can not be mounted. Can not join a unit.

Sounds more like a half man, half beast (espcially the M9) type of character to me. A giant Satyr or something.

Just get that guy and model some butterfly wings on his back and he'll look the part of the flying flamer with a big sword.

You probably wouldn't be far off placing him in something like that, but the question is more about basing I imagine.

There's a model with horns on his head that's standing on a branch or some other such that most people use as the alter-kindred (at least that's the one my son and most of the folks up here use). The model does not have a bow, if memory serves, but that's easy enough to add to his back. Most people, I've seen use him with the special bow that shoots a number of shots equal to your attacks and add Arcane Bodkins (no armor save). With M9, BS7, and 5 shots, he usually takes down a heavy calvary unit or two before the game is over.

Bow of Loren + Arcane Bodkins = 5 BS6 attacks with no armor save

You also have the noble sniper build

Hunter Talon (Fire non-magic arrows without target restrictions @ -1 to hit)
+ Pagent of Skrikes (18", S4, always hit on 3+, pick any taget in los, may use in addition to other missle weapon)

Both of these guys should be fun to field and play!

I generally use the dude with the 2 handed sword as my Alter Lord, since I usually equip him with a Great Sword. I find that the Alter Machine Gun is not worth it's points unless you're playing a Cav army. I've also seen him referred to as the Alter Lord on CMON and the wood elf forums.
