Best Quarterback receiver team

Post by rokassan on Tue Jan 20, 2009 10:46 pm

Remember base this on personal taste, preferred teams ...take everything into account. Not just Superbowl wins. thats a team effort. We're just looking at QB/Receiver teams.

Im bias. Im a Dolphin fan and the Maino/Clayton team was devastating. 5084 yards passing, 48 TD's for Dan and 1389 yard receiving and 18 TD's for Mark Clayton.

Montana and Rice man.

The regular-season career leader is Marino-Clayton with 65. Unitas and Berry of the Baltimore Colts collaborated for 63.

But Montana and Rice have 55 in only SIX SEASONS !! (plus 12 in 10 post-season games). Rice's 12 shares the post-season record for touchdown receptions.

For the time that they were together, no tandem was more devastating.

Hard to dispute...I mostly agree with you (except that I think Rice is a prick...)

I thought Manning and Harrison passed them recently...

Again...anyone but Rice...

They did have Taylor to help Rice get open!

And an over all super star team. Quarterback to Quarterback Marino was better. Montana has the Superbowls because he had a complete team. Marino lacked a good runningback to support him throughout his career. Marino had one year with a 1000+ rusher in his 17 years, Abdul-Jabar in 1996. Montana had Roger Craig from1984-1989...where he won 3 Superbowls in 1984,1988 and 1989. You cant win the big one without a running game.

Marino and Clayton were together from 1984-1992.

True. Ricky had 1800 yards rushing in 2002. Too bad had wanted to smoke weed instead of being a Hall of Fame running back and a millionaire. Fucking moron.

In 2 more seasons, which is what Clayton had, Rice could have easly had 75 touchdowns.
